Master Potter Ian Beniston is renowned for his lustrous copper red glazes and for producing decorative art pieces and sophisticated tableware, with a distinct oriental influence.

Working from his Sensei Pots studio and gallery near Yallingup, Ian has worked as a professional potter and ceramic artist for 30 years.

Ian is highly regarded for the exceptional quality of his craftsmanship, use of stunning bold colour and for producing classic clean lines and curves. The Sensei Pots gallery features a wide range of handcrafted pottery and ceramic art, with large decorative pieces and tableware including ceramic bowls, plates and teapots on display.

The Sensei Pots gallery looks into Ian’s studio and workshop, where visitors can see the space in which each piece has been created and at certain times may have the opportunity to watch Ian at the wheel.

Recent commissions include tableware for Vasse Felix, recently named by the Weekend Australian as one of the ‘Hottest 50’ restaurants in Australia.

Notes:

  1. This is a working studio and you will often be able to watch, meet and talk to the people who make the pieces that are for sale.
  2.  As one person operation, I very occasionally need to be away from my studio during opening hours. Please feel free to phone.
  3. Freight can be arranged to (almost) anywhere in the world.

The Margaret River Artisans is a select group of highly esteemed arts and crafts people living in our stunning coastal region in Western Australia’s South West.
